FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • For a shower enclosure with one stationary panel and a door, you can expect to pay around $2,000. Our basic pricing structure is $800–$1,000 per piece of glass. This price is a middle-of-the-road price point that includes glass, hardware, and installation.

  • Here are five requirements for shower enclosures:

    1. Ensure sufficient blocking

Sufficient blocking is very important for the installation of a frameless enclosure. The doors often weigh sixty-plus pounds and need adequate wood backing to support them.

    2. Overhang the wall tile (especially for curbless showers!)

This issue is more about aesthetics but is still important to mention. If the shower floor tile ends at the same location as the wall tile, the shower door will not be able to overlap the transition. This means that a small portion of the shower floor tile will extend past our installed enclosure. We recommend overhanging the wall tile by at least 2 1/2" so we have adequate space to install our glass over the bathroom floor/shower floor transition.

    3. If using stone, keep it flush with the pony wall/bench

If you will have stone or cultured marble installed as tops on pony walls or benches, it is important that it not overhang the vertical surface. If it does, the stone would need to be notched to fit our glass.

    4. Keep the function of the glass in mind when designing

Carefully consider the function of the glass and answer these questions in advance: How will the door be attached? What is the easiest way to exit the shower? Will I be able to hang a towel bar near the door? Will the swing of the door come in contact with any other object (such as grab bars, towel bars, cabinets, toilets, etc.)?

    5. Place your shower valve in a “reachable” location

By reachable, we mean in a location where you can turn on the shower without getting blasted with cold water. This is commonly achieved by having the shower head and shower valve on separate walls.

  • The glass includes a protective coating that allows water to bead and roll off. Because it is a surface layer, it can accidentally be removed with abrasive cleaners and solvents, such as soft scrub or ammonia, so we recommend removing excess water with a squeegee, and when the glass does require cleaning, use a non-abrasive cleaner like Sprayway. If your glass protection eventually starts to fail, it can be applied again.
